Over 130 registrations from all over the world for the XIV edition of the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize
The Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize 2023 has reached over 130 registrations. The 139 applications received come from all over the world and demonstrat that the inspiration and originality of young artists, dancers and choreographers of contemporary and original dance is always alive and constantly growing.
The young candidacies of the XIV edition come from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Greece, Israel, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Slovakia , Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, Uganda, Hungary as well as Italy.
Until 23 April it was possible to participate in the call for entries for the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize, aimed at choreographers aged between 18 and 40, residing in Italy or abroad, with creations already presented to the public in the form of a study or in progress of realization. Now the pre-selection phase begins. The Prize offers the opportunity to present the candidate project live to a dedicated commission. The designated locations and days were as follows: Milan – 13 May 2023 at the rehearsal room of the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, in collaboration with the Corso Danzatore; Florence, May 20, 2023 at the Light Box – Opus Performing Space; Catania, 27 May 2023 at Scenario Pubblico / Center of Relevant National Interest; Rome, 24 June 2023 as part of the Fuori Programma Festival.
At the end of the pre-selection, there will be 8 semifinalist choreographers who will perform behind closed doors in front of the international jury on Saturday 14 October and only 4 selected will present their work to the public and the jury on Sunday 15 October at the Ridotto of the Teatro Comunale G. Verdi in Padua. The winning project will receive a prize of € 5,000, a week of choreographic residency in Padua and the opportunity to debut in its entirety as part of the Prospettiva Danza Teatro 2024 Festival.
Among the winning artists of the previous editions – today present in the billboards of relevant contemporary dance festivals and reviews throughout Italy – we remember Francesco Marilungo, Adriano Bolognino, Masako Matsushita, Carlo Massari, Daniele Ninarello, Giorgia Nardin, Marco D’Agostin, Chiara Bersani , Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali, Sofia Galvan and Stefania Menestrina.
The Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize is promoted and organized by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Padua in collaboration with the Arteven Circuito Regionale del Veneto, with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation and Banca Etica, conceived and directed by Laura Pulin.
